Beloved Students: As of January 2007, I will take a year-long sabbatical from teaching public yoga classes. Making the decision to stop teaching, even temporarily, has been quite difficult, as I treasure the particular connections I have made with each and every one of you. Although I will deeply miss my weekly interactions with all of you, I am very excited about the year ahead and know that our paths will continue to cross.
For those of you who wish to continue studying Anusara, I highly recommend the following teachers: Paul and Sommer Sobin, Lila Pierce Brown, and Patience Armstrong. The skill and dedication of these teachers has already helped create a thriving Triangle Anusara kula that is committed to supporting the spiritual growth of each individual and to giving back to the larger community.
Another terrific resource is the Triangle Anusara listserv, an online community of Triangle-area students and teachers. This is much more than an online chat group, offering many ways to jump in to the active Anusara kula: potlucks, study groups, workshops, community service, and more. Join in, and you’ll have even more evidence of how amazing this community really is!
I want to thank you all for the blessings you’ve given me and for adding your radiance to my classes. My commitment to the path of yoga remains powerful in part because of the inspiration I’ve gotten from you, and it is my deep wish and intention to stay connected to the kula. To that end, I will continue to offer private lessons and small-group lessons on a limited basis, so please feel free to contact me at triciaberry@intoyoga.net if you are interested in setting up a session or if you’d like to be added to my email list. (Also, feel free to write to me just to let me know how you’re doing.) I also plan to spend some of my free time as a yoga student, as ever—so I’ll see you in class!
Many, many blessing to you all!
